The application of remote sensing to resource management and environmental quality programs in KansasCapabilities to process data for state agencies in Kansas were upgraded through the vehicle of a low cost data processing system. Short term projects in which agencies identified areas of immediate needs, and longer terms projects, continued from previous years, are described including studies of Arkansas River irrigation; evaluation of rangeland in the Cimarron National Grassland; a model of the Walnut Creek watershed groundwater; selection of a pronghorn antelope release site; the establishment of a geographical data base for tax reassessment in Finney County; a land use/land cover inventory and hazards assessment; and applied R & D in agricultural remote sensing. The topics discussed at a short course in remote sensing and publications are listed.
