Apollo spacecraft nonmetallic materials applicationsThe applications of nonmetallic materials to the structures of Apollo spacecraft are discussed. The spacecraft components are examined and the rationale behind the use of specific nonmetallic materials is presented. The emphasis is on the compatibility of the materials with the oxygen enriched atmosphere of the spacecraft enclosures.
