Short-haul transportation in the 1980's

The requirements for short-haul air transportation services in the 1980 time period are analyzed. The identification of short takeoff and landing aircraft to perform this service is reviewed. The adequacy of technical programs for developing short-haul aircraft is examined. The characteristics of several candidate short-haul aircraft are described. A system analysis, to include the economic and environmental factors, is developed.
