Methods of calculating infrared transfer: A reviewMethods for calculating the transfer of infrared radiation in planetary atmospheres are summarized. Direct spectral integration is compared with high precision measurements, suggesting that calculational techniques are sufficient for molecular atmospheres. Infrared transfer is used to study the atmospheric energy budget and atmospheric structures.
