Preliminary report on DSN system performance under local weather effectsLocal effects of precipitation are studied, and a simplified working model is developed. Experimental results obtained by simulation are in good agreement with the model, showing that it could be an important contribution to system degradation. If this is confirmed, some suggestions for improvement are presented.
