Conceptual design of electrostatic antennaThe concept of using electrostatic forces to tension a thin, conducting membrane and maintain it in a precision antenna shape is discussed. This electrostatically controlled membrane mirror is an adpative structure which maintains surface quality despite errors in construction, irregularities of materials, solar heating, and on board disturbances.
