Relationships between U.S. Naval Observatory, LORAN-C and the Defense Satellite Communication SystemThe methods used in forming time scales for distant sites monitoring LORAN-C are addressed. The time transfers obtained via the defense satellite communication system (DSCS) and the data provided by this system used to calibrate these remote time scales are emphasized. The errors involved are discussed.
