Crew and life support: ECLSSThe schedule NASA has proposed has four main elements. The focal point of all the life support activity is demonstrator for the initial space station. The demonstrator is composed of items that are ready for Phase C and D development. Technical options are scheduled during the early years to provide alternatives because the capability to substitute must be maintained. Growth technology and supporting research and technology (SR&T) will continue throughout the program life, and as new items emerge, the space station capability will be updated.
