Transportation Applications, Part 2The capabilities of a tethered teleoperator are discussed, including payload transfer reentry, rendezvous and docking, and deployment and retrieval of the tether teleoperator maneuvering system (TTMS). The expected advantages of the TTMS in the areas of payload transfer, rendezvous, docking, and reentry are outlined. The applicability of the TTMS concept to NASA space stations is examined.
