Some Aspects of General Circulation and Tides in the Middle AtmosphereData from several sources suggest that between 100 and 200 km in the middle atmosphere, a layer of anomalous circulation must be situated, at least in middle latitudes. The mechanisms responsible for the circulation anomaly in this height region are discussed in terms of hydrodynamic equations. The current state of atmospheric tidal theory is also addressed.
