Aerothermal modeling program, phase 2The accuracy and utility of current aerothermal models for gas turbine combustors must be improved. Three areas of concern are identified: improved numerical methods for turbulent viscous recirculating flows; flow interaction; and fuel injector-air swirl characterization. Progress in each area is summarized.
