The Effect of Tabs on a Jet in a Cross-FlowA tab placed on the leeward side of the nozzle was expected to increase jet penetration into the cross-flow. An experiment at UTRC showed insignificant effect. The primary objective of the present study was to confirm and explain the ineffectiveness. The overall approach of the study was to conduct experiments in a low-speed wind tunnel and to conduct hot-wire measurements for mean velocity and streamwise vorticity fields.
