High temperature metals for space shuttle.This paper presents the results of a study to select the titanium alloys and superalloys that are most suitable for elevated temperature use on the space shuttle. Methods of comparison of the properties of importance are presented. Maximum use temperatures of the selected baseline alloys are established.
