Hydrogen defects in proton bombarded KCl.Optical absorption bands are observed in the UV and IR proton bombarded potassium chloride at liquid nitrogen temperature. It is demonstrated that the absorption is due to trapped protons, and the largest UV band has been identified with the U center.
