Finite word length effects on digital filter implementation. This paper is a discussion of two known techniques to analyze finite word length effects on digital filters. These techniques are extended to several additional programming forms and the results verified experimentally. A correlation of the analytical weighting functions for the two methods is made through the Mason Gain Formula.
