NASA aircraft engine noise research.NASA research and development work on the noise of aircraft engines suitable for use on conventional take-off and landing subsonic cruise airplanes is reviewed. The work discussed was part of the NASA Quiet Engine program. Salient results in the areas of fan, jet and complete propulsion system noise are presented and briefly discussed.
