The coude spectrograph and echelle scanner of the 2.7 m telescope at McDonald Observatory.Discussion of certain design aspects of the coude spectrograph, and description of the coude scanner that uses some of the spectrograph optics. The configuration of the large echelle grating used is reviewed along with the systems of computer scanner control and data handling.
