Myocardial metabolism during exposure to carbon monoxide in the conscious dog.Investigation of the relationship between coronary flow, heart rate, left ventricular function, and myocardial oxygen consumption at increasing levels of carboxyhemoglobin in conscious dogs. The results demonstrate a linear increase in coronary flow and heart rate as the carboxyhemoglobin increases up to 20%. Myocardial oxygen consumption declined during the same period.
