Improved Hanle effect measurement technique for fast ions.An improved averaging technique for use with foil-excited fast ions is applied to a Hanle-effect measurement of the mean life of some fast ions. With improved data analysis, the employed technique is expected to be more precise, as well as experimentally simpler than previously used techniques.
