Traffic study of a computer system.A study which may guide the operations of existing computer installations, as well as the design of future networks, is described. Performance data and evaluations are considered with reference to interarrival time, users' habits, waiting time for execution, time spent in a partition, figures of merit, and states of the system. The analysis of the variables proceeds from examination of typical data with appropriate statistical tests to conclusions about the possible state of nature.
