Magnetospheric sourcesMotions of the plasma and the energetic particles in the magnetosphere modify the earth's internal field. It is not possible to separate the fields produced by the magnetospheric sources from the field of internal terrestrial origin on the basis of magnetic field observations made on the ground. Such a separation requires an analysis in which data obtained with the aid of satellites are taken into account in addition to the values measured on the ground. Data of the magnetic field obtained by the satellite Ogo 5 are considered.
