Time-resolved spectra of bulk titanium combustionSome preliminary spectroscopic results of an investigation of the radiation from bulk specimens of burning titanium are presented. The use of larger stationary specimens is shown to have considerably eased some of the experimental difficulties associated with metal combustion research and to approximate more closely the conditions prevailing in large-scale accidental metal fires.
