Compressibility of a translating bubble in an oscillating pressure fieldThe response of a single translating vapor-gas bubble to a sinusoidal pressure variation is analyzed analytically and experimentally. The bubble is assumed to move in an infinite liquid with a constant translational velocity. Bubbles are assumed to consist of saturated vapor and a noncondensible gas. The experimental results are in the low frequency range with no noncondensible gas present, although the theory is more general. Agreement between experiment and theory is satisfactory.
