A study of phase transitions in lead difluoride by use of polychromatic X-ray diffractionA polychromatic X-ray diffraction technique was used to obtain patterns of alpha-PbF2 and beta-PbF2. The results obtained at room temperature and 314 C at 1 atm, and at room temperature at 5.5 kbar, are in good agreement with published data. The advantages of the technique for high-temperature and high-pressure work are discussed.
