A model-based analysis of a display for helicopter landing approachA control theoretic model of the human pilot was used to analyze a baseline electronic cockpit display in a helicopter landing approach task and to generate display quickening laws designed to improve pilot-vehicle performance. A simple fixed base simulation provided comparative tracking data which allowed refinement of the pilot model.
