The assembly of large structures in spaceTechniques developed for orbital assembly of the support structure for a 1000 meter diameter microwave power transmission system antenna are described. The operation is performed in two phases using the shuttle remote manipulator system in low earth orbit, and a mobile assembler in geosynchronous orbit.
