Proprioceptive information about target location suppresses autokinesisAn experimental study of autokinesis perceived by subjects who had proprioceptive information about target locations was conducted. When subjects were permitted to grasp the target light mount, their perceptions of autokinesis were found to be fewer and of smaller magnitude than when only visual information about the target location was available. The decrease in autokinesis was correlated with an enhancement of oculomotor control.
