Design of a Costas loop to operate with the Block 3 receiver and its predicted performanceThe system design, hardware construction, and predicted performance of a Costas loop is presented. Its expected performance regarding steady state phase error under assumed Doppler conditions, rms phase jitter, and their respective sensitivities with respect to variations in signal to noise ratios are discussed.
