On the Routh approximation technique and least squares errorsA new method for calculating the coefficients of the numerator polynomial of the direct Routh approximation method (DRAM) using the least square error criterion is formulated. The necessary conditions have been obtained in terms of algebraic equations. The method is useful for low frequency as well as high frequency reduced-order models.
