Wiener filtering of successive overlapping sections of an X-ray reconstructionIn this paper, a technique is developed to improve the image quality of an object in three-dimensional reconstruction by a weighted average of successive overlapping two-dimensional sections of the object. It is demonstrated that the signal-to-noise ratio of a two-dimensional picture can be improved by roughly a factor of 2 for typical X-ray beam shapes.
