Interactions between surface cooling and LBNP-induced central hypovolemiaThe paper describes a study carried out to determine the extent to which whole body surface cooling (WBSC) modifies the effects of the central hypovolemia produced by lower body negative pressure (LBNP) at normal skin temperatures. It is shown that WBSC produces a central displacement of cutaneous venous volume resulting in an increase in stroke volume.
