A performance evaluation postprocessor for computer-aided design and analysis of communication systemsA technique for estimating the signal-to-noise ratio at a point in a digital simulation of a communication system is described; the technique is essentially a digital realization of a technique proposed by Shepertycki (1964) for the evaluation of analog communication systems. Signals having lowpass or bandpass spectra may be used. Simulation results show the technique to be accurate over a wide range of signal-to-noise ratios.
