Some interdisciplinary trade-offs in the design of large space structuresThe constraints placed on the design of large space structures by acceleration, attitude control, and stationkeeping forces are discussed. Stiffness requirements for the structures are derived. The use of active versus passive accuracy control methods is also addressed.
