Solidification processingThe solidification processing activities are reported. The following topics are studied: behavior of semisolid metals, purification and strengthening by fractional melting, continuous casting, control of ingot surface quality, and metal matrix composites. Formation of deoxidation products in steels is also investigated. Rapid solidification, crystal growth, experimental and mathematical modeling of solidification processes are explored.
