Statistical equilibrium in cometary C2. III - Triplet-singlet, Phillips, Ballik-Ramsay, and Mulliken bandsA new series of vibrational bands is predicted which arises from transitions between the lowest electron states of the triplet and singlet states of homonuclear C2. The predictions are useful for C2 identifications and for disentangling congested low resolution spectra that characterize new observations. Predictions are also made for Mulliken, Phillips, and Ballik-Ramsay band sequences, and all calculations are made with the assumed molecular constants and computational methods of KSO-II.
