Magnetotail dynamics excited by the streaming tearing modeMagnetotail reconnection in the presence of plasma streaming parallel to the neutral sheet is modeled. The tearing mode is excited much more violently in the case with parallel plasma flow in the plasma sheet than in the case with no flow. The flow patterns for the nonlinear resistive tearing mode and the streaming tearing mode are much more complex than those for the linear tearing mode. Flow vortices are observed in both cases.
