Fabrication of Graphite/Epoxy Column ElementsDimensionally precise columns wound on vertical mandrels. Dry fiber wound on tapered aluminum mandrel and outer sleeve. Winding and injection done at elevated temperature to minimize thermal-expansion problems during curing of resin. Technique used in textile industry.
