Venus analogues on the Earth's ocean floor(?): Volcanic terrains seen by SeaMARC 2 side scan sonarThe geology of Venus is discussed. The approximate age of the surface and the relative importance of large scale volcanic, tectonic and sedimentary processes are not known. Venus holds a very important role in comparative planetology. The investigation of comparable environments to Venus to test ideas of landform development on that planet are proposed.
