Liquidlike state of dense hydrogenSome difficulties associated with estimates of the ground-state energy difference between liquid and solid metallic hydrogen based on many-body perturbation theory are pointed out. Arguments based on liquid-state perturbation theory which indicate that the energy difference may be much smaller than was found in a previous calculation are presented.
