Plasma Source for Charge ControlPlasma source neutralizes electrical charge on spacecraft. When triggered by command from spacecraft potential monitor or from control system, plasma apparatus responds within about 1 s, generating charged plasma of required polarity. Discharging system to be tested on Air Force Geophysics Laboratory BERT-1 (Beam Emission Rocket Test) sounding rocket.
