Winds in the lower thermosphere over Mawson, AntarcticaMeasurements are presented of the neutral wind field in the lower thermosphere over Mawson, Antarctica, made during the austral Spring of 1981. The Mawson Institute's Fabry-Perot spectrometer was used to study the OI lambda 588 nm emission in the night airglow and aurora. Wind velocities were inferred from Doppler shifts of this emission.
