Solidifying Mn/Bi in a Magnetic FieldReport describes experiments in directional solidification of eutectic Mn/Bi in magnetic field. Study determines whether effects of gravitationally-induced convection reduced or eliminated by magnetic field. Morphological, thermal, and magnetic analyses done on samples grown at various speeds and various applied strengths. Magnetic effects similar to those of low gravity.
