Earth surface sensing in the '90'sAdvances in Earth sensor technology and data handling techniques are reviewed. These will allow the acquisition of high resolution images over a wide range of the electromagnetic spectrum (from microwave to optical) with sufficient spectral resolution to permit detailed analysis of the surface chemical, thermal, and physical properties. When combined with the topography, this will allow the user to analyze the full data set in a perspective view that enhances interpretation capability.
