An adaptive finite element strategy for complex flow problemsAdaptive finite element methods for steady and unsteady flow problems in two-dimensional domains are described. Details of a data management scheme are given that provide for the rapid implementation of various CFD algorithms on changing unstructured meshes. The results of several numerical experiments on subsonic and supersonic flow problems are discussed.
