Observed beaming of terrestrial myriametric radiationObservations by the Dynamics Explorer 1 satellite are discussed which validate the theory that terrestrial myriametric radiation (TMR) is produced by the linear conversion of electrostatic upper hybrid waves to electromagnetic radiation via a radio window. A remote sensing technique based on the theory is used to investigate the location and characteristics of the source region. Finally, the location of the TMR source region is demonstrated by direct measurement.
