Continuous-wave operation at 2.1 microns of a diode-laser-pumped, Tm-sensitized Ho:Y3Al5O12 laser at 300 KRoom-temperature operation of a continuous-wave Tm-sensitized Ho:YAG laser at 2.0974 microns has been achieved under diode-laser pumping at 781.5 nm. Observed thresholds are as low as 4.4 mW, with a slope efficiency of 19 percent with 0.5 percent output coupling.
