Numerical simulation of heat transfer during the crystal growth of HgCdTe alloysThe effects of growth parameters on the thermal distribution during a Bridgman-Stockbarger-type crystal growth of HgCdTe alloys using short gradient zones are analyzed numerically. The analysis takes into account the change in the thermophysical properties upon freezing and considers both the temperature and composition dependences of the properties as well as translation rate effects. The calculated results compare favorably with previously published empirical results.
