Drag measurements on a body of revolution in Langley's 13-inch Magnetic Suspension and Balance SystemNASA Langley's 13-inch Magnetic Suspension and Balance System (MSBS) has been used to conduct low-speed wind tunnel drag force measurements on a laminar-flow body-of-revolution free of support system interference, in order to verify the drag force measurement capabilities of the MSBS. The drag force calibrations and wind-on repeatability data obtained have verified the design capabilities for this system. A drag-prediction code has been used to assess the MSBS's usefulness in body drag estimation.
