Alternative methods for computing sound radiation from vibrating surfacesThe merits of various numerical and experimental methods for computing sound fields radiated from vibrating structures are examined. The finite difference method, the finite element method, direct boundary element method, indirect boundary element near-field acoustic holography, two-microphone methods, and spatial transformation of sound fields are considered. The proper utilization of the methods is discussed.
