Calibration of long term data sets from operational satellites using the Space ShuttleModifications made to the SBUV/2 (solar backscatter ultraviolet mod 2) to make it compatible with the Shuttle are examined. The Shuttle SBUV (SSBUV) in-flight radiometric calibration checking system is also described. Requirements, constraints, and methodology for combining SSBUV data with SBUV/2 data to remove its long-term drift are discussed.
